Architects are famous for their attention to detail, and they often use meticulous specifications to reveal how their buildings should be constructed. Typically, these guidelines account for a number of elements including materials, designs, and products. Specifications help optimize the construction and installation process, enabling smoother project completion. However, when writing specifications there is one element that is sometimes overlooked – climate conditions.
New Orleans in January is shaping up to be a great time! The SSPC (Society for Protective Coatings) will again hold their annual conference January 15-18 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. The Polygon Group is excited to announce its attendance at this year’s event!
For most of us, visiting the grocery store is a task we perform without much forethought. In fact, according to the 2016 FMI U.S. Shopper Trends Survey, 94% of us feel safe in purchasing our foods at the market and never consider the possible dangers in the food system. Retail grocery stores, as a result, must be vigilant in maintaining that high level of trust by consistently heading off potential hazards.
When you burn anything, the products of combustion are produced. This includes soot, carbon dioxide and water. The exhaust stack on an indirect fired heater carries these out of the system so these undesirable substances do not enter your space. When you put a fired heater directly into your building and vent the products of combustion into your space, however, you are introducing that soot and carbon dioxide—as well as large amounts of water—into your space. Welcome to a dripping ceiling.
